Description:
Colortone Floor Varnish is a fast-drying, water-based, lead-free coating for softwood interior floors. Easy to apply and tough enough to withstand heavy foot traffic, our water-based Floor Varnish keeps wooden floors protected and looking great. *Not recommended for cracked softwood.
Wooden floor preparation:
- Remove existing coatings from the wooden surface with Colortone Super Paint Stripper or by sanding
- Using a conventional sander, ensure your wooden floor is properly sanded down
- Wash the floor thoroughly to remove all dust, dirt and oil and allow to dry
- Stir the Colortone Floor Varnish contents well before use
- Use a paintbrush or roller to apply Floor Varnish
- For your first coat of Floor Varnish, dilute with 10% water
- Thereafter, apply two undiluted coats of Floor Varnish to ensure the floor is sealed all around
- Pro tip: For optimal results, we recommend you give your wooden floor a light sanding in between each coat
- Clean brush or roller with water
- Approx. drying time is 2 hours at 25 degrees Celsius (weather dependent)
- Approx. surface coverage is 8-10m2 per litre depending on the type of wood
